Installing plugins
Option 1: with the connector (recommended)
- Set up the connector.
- For paid plugins: assign the license to your Matomo instance in your customer account under My licenses via Assign to instance.
- In Matomo, open Administration → Plugins → Feinwerk Plugins and click Install next to the plugin.
The connector downloads the matching version, verifies the file, installs and activates the plugin. Future updates appear in the same place.
Option 2: ZIP file by hand
This is how you get the ZIP file with the current version:
- Free and freemium plugins: via Download ZIP on the plugin page or in the plugin documentation.
- Paid plugins: after the purchase in your customer account under My licenses via Download ZIP.
The ZIP file contains one folder named after the plugin's technical name, for example FeinwerkSearchReport. Install it like the connector: upload in Matomo, via SFTP or SSH, or on the command line. The individual steps are described for the connector.
Activate the plugin under Administration → Plugins → Manage Plugins or on the command line:
./console plugin:activate FeinwerkSearchReport
Paid features check their license through the connector. So install the connector even with manual installs, and assign the license to your instance.
Updates for manual installs
Without the connector you get no update notices. To update, download the new ZIP file and replace the plugin folder. If the new version needs database changes, Matomo shows an update prompt on the next visit. On the command line:
./console core:update
Multi-server setups
If Matomo runs on several servers and multi_server_environment = 1 is set in the configuration, Matomo does not install plugins through its interface. Roll the plugin folder out to all servers, for example with your deployment, and activate the plugin once on the command line.
