Troubleshooting

The "Feinwerk Plugins" page stays empty or reports no connection

  • Under Administration → System → General settings, in the FeinwerkMarketplaceConnector section, check that Marketplace URL is exactly https://plugins.feinwerk.io and that the Instance token is complete.
  • Check that the token is still valid. Your customer account shows under My instances whether the instance is active. A revoked token has to be regenerated.
  • Your Matomo server needs outgoing HTTPS connections to plugins.feinwerk.io. Firewalls or proxies sometimes block them. Test on the server with curl -I https://plugins.feinwerk.io.
  • If the page shows a note about cached data, the store was briefly unreachable. Reload the list later with Refresh.

The installation fails

  • The web server user needs write access to the plugins/ directory. With Docker, the directory must not be read-only.
  • In multi-server setups with multi_server_environment = 1, Matomo does not install plugins through its interface. Install by hand instead, see Installing plugins.
  • For paid plugins, the license must be assigned to the instance.

A plugin does not appear or offers no update

The store only shows versions that fit your Matomo and PHP version. Each plugin's requirements are listed in its documentation under Technical reference. After a Matomo or PHP update, fitting versions appear with the next check.

The license is not recognised

  • Assign the license to the right instance in your customer account under My licenses.
  • The connector syncs licenses during the daily check. Refresh on the Feinwerk Plugins page does it right away.

Matomo asks for a database upgrade after an update

Some versions change tables. Confirm the upgrade in Matomo or run ./console core:update on the command line. On large instances, plan such updates for a maintenance window. Affected versions are flagged in the store and in the connector.
